Sean Adam (Sain) McDonald joined his mother, Jackie, in spirit and eternal rest March 31, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Sean was born Nov. 5, 1981 in Flint.
He graduated from Flushing High School in 2000.
Sean was employed by Bill Marsh Automotive Group. He held Mr. Marsh and his fellow workers in high esteem. Upon learning of Sean's illness, Bill Marsh and employees initiated a community fundraiser to assist with Sean's medical expenses. In February, Grand Traverse Guns N Hoses hosted their fourth annual police and firefighters' charity hockey game and designated Sean as their beneficiary. The family is grateful for the wonderful support provided by the Traverse City community.
Sean loved playing his saxophone. His belated Grandpa Sain arranged special recordings of the "Sain Singers" and a saxophone solo was featured by Sean. Sean was also a competitive golfer and helped manage a golf course while living in Tucson, Arizona.
In addition to his adoring, beloved wife, Tori, and cherished daughters, Saryna, Laynee, Juno and Victoria, he leaves his father, George McDonald, of Omer; brothers, Dain McDonald, of Grand Rapids, and Chris (Kristy) McDonald, of Texas; sister, Lori (Don) Cicchetti, of New York; grandmother, Doris Sain, of Grand Blanc; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Sain McDonald Johnson; maternal grandfather, Danny D. Sain; and paternal grandparents, William and Iva (Hillman) McDonald.
Sean, wanting to help others, donated his body to medical research. A private family service will be held to celebrate his life.
