Shirley was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother who always doted on her granddaughters. Shirley was an avid reader and loved Frank Sinatra, University of Michigan football and dogs. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, where she was a Stephen's Minister. Shirley moved to Traverse City and became a member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she volunteered at their affiliate, the Jubilee House. Shirley's family will miss her sense of humor, unfailing directness and loyalty. She spent her last few years in Midland at Riverside, where she made many new friends.
Her family would like to thank Riverside and the Heartland staff for the love, kindness and respect they showed her. The family is grateful to them all.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Anne Elizabeth Brasie, Jeanne (Paul) Lewer, Kathryn (David) Dean and Carolyn Brasie Tchijikov; grandchildren, Kara Dean and Ellie Dean. Also surviving are her brothers, David Krum and Kermit (Jane) Krum; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Biggerstaff; and her parents.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Jubilee House, 325 Washington St., Traverse City, MI 49684.
