Events

Alfred "Al/Mike" Frederick Knight, 80, passed away peacefully at home June 10, 2019. He was born March 14, 1939 in Kingsley to the late Lucas Henry and Dora Mae (Srackangast) Knight.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the U.S. Coast Guard. A beloved hobby of repairing outboard motors became a booming business when he opened Knight's Marine in Kingsley shortly after retirement. He operated his business as long as he could lift outboard motors, and even after he could no longer do so he offered free advice to anyone who needed it.
He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, he treasured time spent with his six grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children, Jacqueline Ann Edelmann, of New Port Ritchey, Florida, James Andrew Knight (Kathleen), of Olean, New York, and Jennifer Lynn Barlow (Russell), of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, Danielle (Jay) Pskowski, of Dade City, Florida, Anthony Edelmann, of Tampa, Florida, Justin and Travis Barlow, of Ocala, Florida, and Kayla and Joshua Knight, of Olean, New York; and former wife and friend, Patricia Ann Knight, of Olean, New York. He is also survived by his two sisters, Linda Luotonen, of Sterling Heights, and Eleanor Wasson, (Ralph), of Dewitt; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Gary Dewayne Knight; his parents, Lucas Henry and Dora Mae (Srackangast) Knight; his sisters, Boneita Deo and Lucy DeNoyer; his brothers, John "Jack" Knight and infant, ElJay Knight; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Deo, James DeNoyer and John Luotonen.
