Traverse City, Michigan - Amanda Lou Geiger, 83, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully with her loving daughter and sister at her side on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Orchard Creek.

Amanda was born on August 30, 1942, in Traverse City to the late Robert and Rachel (Meyers) Franke. She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1960.

She married Donald Geiger in Traverse City in 1964, and together they shared a beautiful daughter, Lisa. Amanda was a hard worker and proud of her strong work ethic. She devoted 43 years to housekeeping at Munson Medical Center.

Amanda was known for her love of word books, television, especially her favorite soap operas, and computer games. Her happy place was always the casino, especially when her sister from Virginia was home to join her. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Taylor; grandsons, Robert and Michael Taylor; her sister, Terri (Lawrence) Smith; and brothers, Robert (Laura) Franke and Jeffrey (Shannon) Franke and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rachel Franke; her granddaughter, Victoria Magee; and her former husband, Donald Geiger.

A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.
