Traverse City, MI - Ann Blackburn Harper passed away peacefully in her Michigan home. She was 87 years old. Ann was born in Denton, Texas, to Clark Kingsley Blackburn and Mary Jane Edwards Blackburn.
Ann went to Brenau University and graduated from The University of Georgia, after which she married and moved to Atlanta, GA, where she raised her children. Ann spent the winters in Beaufort, SC, and all but 2 summers of her life in Traverse City, MI. She loved playing bridge, golf and fishing. She was in a washboard band in college and loved to sing and play the ukulele.
Ann is survived by her partner of 33 years, Raymond Thompson, daughter Carol Champion Turner, son Thomas Dallis Champion (Angie), stepdaughter Blair Harper Nichols (Mark) ,stepson William Howard Harper (Debbie), 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Ann lived a long, beautiful life. She was well loved and loved well. She will be greatly missed. The family will be having a private celebration of her life in Michigan at a later date.
