Audrey Ann (Bernatche) Jacobs, born November 18, 1935, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility with her beloved husband, Bob, by her side.

She loved her family above all else, and adored gardening and sharing her love of flowers with others. She could often be found outside in the warmer months, enjoying her gardens and playing with neighborhood children. Audrey loved children, as her many nieces, nephews, and two grandchildren can attest.

She and Bob were high school sweethearts, who both graduated from Manistee High School, where Audrey was active in multiple clubs, and represented her class of 1954 as Homecoming Queen. Audrey and Bob married on June 25, 1960, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manistee, Michigan.

Audrey went on to graduate nursing school and served for several years in that career before dedicating herself to raising her son, John.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Joeseph and Josephine (Bukowski) Bernatche; and her siblings Dolores (Bernatche) Akershoek, Donald Bernatche Sr., Jerome Bernatche, Phyllis (Bernatche) Olson-Scott, and Robert Raymond Bernatche.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Jacobs of Manistee, Michigan; her son, John (Tonya) Jacobs; and grandchildren Lauren Jacobs and Ian Jacobs of Traverse City, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee, MI on March 30, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10 am. Audrey loved spring colors, especially pink and yellow. If you can, please wear those colors to honor and celebrate her life.
