Barbara L. Bratschi

Barbara Lois Bratschi, age 88, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019.
Barbara was born May 9, 1931 in Buckley to Albert and Beulah (Tatro) Duell. On June 28, 1949 she married Clark Bratschi, and they enjoyed 41 years together.
Lois loved volunteering and being with family and friends. Her volunteer efforts served many, including president of AMVETS Aux Post 114, American Cancer Society, local blood drives, local elections and a volunteer for Munson hospital gift shop for 35 years. She was also very engaged in her church, Sacred Heart; she faithfully volunteered with weekly bulletins and many other church functions.
Most will remember Lois as the Avon Lady. She sold Avon from 1965 to 2016 and loved it. She acquired wonderful customers who became good friends. Her love for people and her small town was evident.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; sons, Kevin, Steve and daughter-in-law, Sandy.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Swanson; sons, Greg (Jenny) Bratschi and Bruce (Ellen) Bratschi; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 143 Charles St., Elk Rapids, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will occur Monday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Elk Rapid AMVETS Ladies Auxillary Post 114 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
