Barbara Chandler Obituary
Mesick, Michigan - Barbara Chandler, of Mesick, MI, was reunited with the love of her life, Robert "Bob" after being apart for 29 years on Monday June 1, 2026, at Munson Medical Center, in Traverse City, MI. Barbara was born September 16, 1936, to Walter and Mary Shakotko in Detroit, MI.
Barbara graduated from Denby High School where she remained friends with many. In 1973, the Chandler Family moved to Clarkston where Barbara became active in her church and spent summers gardening and canning while raising her three children. In 1992, she and Bob moved to Mesick. Barbara quickly found a new church where she and two other ladies formed a prayer group which became a very special part of Barbs life.
Barbara is survived by: her daughter, Lorna (Alan) Radtke of Brighton, MI; son, Guy (Kimberly) Chandler of Spring, TX; three grandsons, Justin (Katelyn) of Norfolk, VA; Calahan of Walled Lake, MI; and Brandon (Esmy) of Spring, TX; sisters, Patricia Morley of Brighton and Darlene (Allen) Coughlin of Florida; her Prayer Partners, Patti (Paul) Williams and Peggy (Larry) Johnson, both of Mesick; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Dale.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Minar Bible Church, in Mesick, MI. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service at the church with a luncheon to follow.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
