Barbara A. Gibbs
Barbara Ann Gibbs, 93, of Thompsonville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Paul Oliver Living and Rehabilitation in Frankfort. She was born Sept. 7, 1926 in Lansing, the daughter of Reginald and Edna (Knapp) Stiles.
Since the age of 16, Barbara had a passion for music and played the piano beautifully. She even played in a band for many years and continued to play throughout her life.
Barbara met the love of her life, Robert Nelson Gibbs, and together they enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing. As a mother, she sacrificed a lot for her family and always made sure they were well cared for. She loved with everything she had and was the best mumsie and grandmother anyone could ask for.
Her loving and caring nature are just a few things that will be missed by her family. There will forever be a void in the hearts of those closest to her.
Barbara is survived by: her sons, Charles "Chuck" Cribbs, John Cribbs, Steve Gibbs, Robbin Gibbs and Mark Gibbs; her daughters, Nancy Casey, Sandra Lagerquist and Kimberly Gibbs-Bridges; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Ralph Hugh Stiles; her sister, Oral Leona Hewitt; and many extended family members and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Nelson Gibbs; her son, Jack Cribbs; two grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; and her parents.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Pastor Jamie Parlette officiating.
Interment will take place in the Homestead Township Cemetery in the spring.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah is in charge of arrangements.
