Traverse City, MI - Bernadette Kay Byrne, known to family and friends as "Kay," was born in Huntington, Indiana, to Bernard and Norma Stambazze. She passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Kay was devoted to her family and found great joy in being a grandmother. She loved celebrating traditional holidays and could always be counted on for her steady support and presence.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Michael Byrne. She will be deeply missed by her children, Jeffrey (Natalie) Byrne and Angelina (Bill) Bryan, as well as her granddaughters, Maren, Hazel, Amanda, and Michelle. Also surviving are Kay's brothers, Pete (Judy) Stambazze and Bob (Marla) Stambazze.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Beacon Funeral Home, 511 S. Garfield Avenue, Traverse City, Michigan.
