Bette Jane McKellar Obituary

Beulah, MI - Bette passed away suddenly after months of giving her all taking care of her husband Dale, who preceded her in death from lung cancer less than 3 weeks before. She is survived by her son Bryan McKellar, who lives in Traverse City. Her parents were Dorothy and Charles Annis. Although she was born in Traverse City hospital, she grew up in Leland, graduated from Midland Sernior High, and later attended Delta College. Bette was active for many years in the Kiwanis, and helped for many seasons with the Cherry Festival. When she was younger, she loved swimming in the Leelanau area. When she was older she wanted to travel all over the world, but had to settle for trips to the west coast and Texas. She and Dale went on extended trip to the Southwest with Dale's brothers and their wives where she visited Las Vegas, the The Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion National Parks and spent several happy days on a houseboat on Lake Powell. She was a terrific Tiger fan who attended one of the 2013 Playoff games. There will be no services.
