Brian S. Bromley

Brian Scott Bromley, 57, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2019 from an apparent heart condition. Brian was born in Bay City on May 17, 1962, son of James and Ashley (Hohmann) Bromley.
He grew up in Midland and was a 1980 graduate of H.H. Dow High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in Midland in 1984, and in 1997 he received the university's Outstanding Alumni Award. Additionally, he graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Brian was a senior vice president and retail regional director with Huntington Bank in Grand Rapids for many years. He previously was employed with Empire National Bank in Traverse City.
Brian was a committed father, brother, son, friend and a loyal team member throughout his life. Brian loved to golf and spend time at his cottage on Platte Lake west of Traverse City. He was an avid sports fan, and those who knew him know his passion for the University of Michigan teams, the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons, the Cincinnati Reds and the Oakland Raiders. He was funny and had a knack for making mundane moments memorable.
Brian was preceded in death by his older brother, Bruce.
Brian is survived by his parents, Ashley and James Bromley, of Midland; sons, Benjamin and Evan Bromley, both of Grand Rapids; his partner, Kristi Lighty, of Hudsonville; sisters, Beth (Jan Dykstra) Bromley, of Grand Rapids, and Barbara (Fritz) Reznor, of Pleasant Ridge; brothers, Brad (Chandra) Bromley and Barry (Jodi) Bromley, both of Midland; and nephews, Jacob and Zachary Bromley, both of Midland.

I worked with Brian over the last 4 years and he was one of the first people to welcome me to the bank. He had a great sense of humor, energetic and loved talking about up north. We have a place on Long Lake, close to Platte so I always called him my neighbor. He shared stories of taking his sons to Platte Lk and spending time with family. He was a special person and will be missed. My condolences to the family.
