Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - Carolyn Wilson Sutton of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, died peacefully of natural causes on January 14, 2026, at the age of 86.

Carolyn was born on October 22, 1939, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Covel and Fern Lucas. She attended Interlochen Summer Camp through 1957 and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1961 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Following graduation, Carolyn taught elementary school in Michigan for several years. Later in life, Carolyn served as president of Capps Sutton, a pattern shop and foundry, alongside her late husband, Raymond Sutton, and actively ran the company from 1984 to 2017.

Carolyn was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra, where she devoted many years of service to the Altar Guild and as a Lay Eucharist Minister and formed many lasting friendships. She and Ray also enjoyed annual ski trips out west. One of Carolyn's greatest joys was spending summers in Northport, Michigan, living aboard their sailboat, Children, and sailing across Lake Michigan and beyond. Later in life, Carolyn was president of the resident council at Vicar's Landing Windsor Health Center and was a strong and active advocate for all living in Health Center.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Sutton and her son John Harwood. She is survived by her three children: Anne (Leonard) Peruski, Mary Harwood, and James (Janine) Harwood; step children: Raymond (Kathy) Sutton, Jr., William Sutton, and David (Julie) Sutton; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth (Edin) Canovic, Kyle Peruski, Jennifer Peruski, Scott Peruski, Nicholas Baker, Samantha Baker, Tyler Harwood, and Matthew Harwood; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on Friday, February 20 at 11:00 AM.
