Constance Vaughn Obituary

Constance "Connie" Vaughn, age 79, died peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018 at The Grand Traverse Pavilions. Connie was born March 11, 1939. Her parents were Margaret and Jimmy, who predeceased her.

Connie was a very special and joyful person who spent her adult years in adult foster care. She lived with the Swainston family in Traverse City for over 30 years; she considered Josie and Gene to be her close friends and caretakers and their children, Deb, Dena and Dave, to be her sisters and brother. When the Swainstons retired from the AFC, Connie went to live at Ritter's AFC in Traverse City, where she was well cared for and loved.

She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church and a devoted member of The Order of the Daughters of the King, a prayer order for women.

Connie will be remembered for her love of Jesus, her joy in life and her happy greetings to everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a special place in her heart for children. Connie will be missed by so many friends who loved her.

A celebration of life for Connie will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Grace Episcopal Church in Traverse City. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.

Memorial contributions in Connie's name may be directed to the Grace Church Foundation, 341 Washington St., Traverse City, MI 49684.
