Daniel Jenks Boynton, 72, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 17, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on September 4, 1952, in Detroit, the son of Jacqueline Jenks Boynton and Frank D. Boynton III. His father died in 1953, and his mother remarried Lawrence John Verdier in 1954. The family moved to Leland in 1969.
A lifelong learner, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in 1974. Upon graduation, he moved back to Leland where he established his own painting company. He took great pride in his craft and the work he provided to his community.
Daniel is survived by his loving partner of 19 years, Barbara (B) Miller; his sister and brother-in law Anne and Jeffrey Grausam of Sherman Oaks, California; four nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather; his brother, Frank David Boynton IV; and his nephew Thomas (Toby) Verdier Boynton-Fisher.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held when the family can next gather.
