Traverse City, Michigan - Diana Shirley Thorpe, born February 21, 1949, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Traverse City, Michigan.

Her deep love for family was only rivaled by her love of traveling, with Hawaii and Las Vegas holding a special place in her heart as her favorite destinations. She also enjoyed collecting antiques of all kinds. When health problems made traveling difficult, she turned to scrapbooking to pass the time—always preserving pieces of the past, whether they were her own memories or treasures she had discovered along the way.

A life-long champion for the "underdog," Diana was a strong-willed, stubborn woman who never hesitated to share her thoughts and opinions. Whether you agreed with her or not, you always knew exactly where she stood.

Diana is survived by her children: Sheila (Michael) Anderson, Jason Thorpe, and Mandy (Ryan) Nickerson. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Jason (Meredith) Thorpe, Jesslyn Thorpe, Hannah Anderson, Adriane Thorpe, and Hailey and Paige Nickerson, as well as several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Thorpe, parents, Edward and Elsie Henning; brother, Elton (Carol) Henning; grandson, Christopher Thorpe; and her significant other, Richard Lautner.

A private family viewing will be held.
