Donald Haviland, age 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022. Don enjoyed hunting and working on cars with his son, Rob. He was a longtime member of Carlisle United Methodist Church. Don worked at Rapistan, where he retired after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Nellie Haviland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Donna Jackson; brothers-in-law, Robert Thorington, Art Jankowski, Bud Dukes, Fay Jackson; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Jackson. Lovingly remembering Don is his wife of 63 years, Annabelle; children, Robert (Cindy) Haviland, Teresa (Chris) Hathaway, Jody (Rick) Swanberg, Donda Schippers-Noel; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Thorington, Mary Jankowski, Virginia Dukes; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edna Jackson, Roberta (Jerry) Bruinekool, Clifford (Kay) Jackson, Will (Patricia) Rodgers, Clesson (Mary) Jackson; many nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Teddy. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions in honor of Don may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Kindred Hospice.
