Elton David "Tony" Oxby Jr., 71, of McBain, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at Tendercare Birchwood Health Center in Traverse City.

Tony was born Sept. 9, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Elton David and Kathleen (Crabtree) Oxby Sr. and they preceded him in passing.

Tony graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1963 and worked with his father at A & K Electric in Cadillac for many years, later taking over as owner and operator.

He enjoyed regularly meeting for breakfast with friends at Bob Evans and Frosty Cup in Cadillac. Tony collected animated, musical decorations for every holiday and would put them on display for others to enjoy. His loyal companion was his Blue Heeler/Black Lab, Hey You.

He is survived by his children, Wanda Jaynes, of Traverse City, Elton David "Tony" Oxby III, of Tustin, California, William "Bill" (Colleen) Oxby, of Lansing, Stacie Oxby, of Kingsley, Troy Oxby, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Lorri Redman, of Cadillac, Christopher Redman, of Mesick, Larry Bunge and Martha (Nick) Snyder, all of Manton; 18 grandchildren; and sisters, Sheila (Jack) Thompson and Sharon (Chris) Olsen, all of Cadillac.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special friend, Jackie Storie; and two infant brothers, Robert Allen and David Allen.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac.

His final resting place will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
