George J. Kaminski Obituary

George John Kaminski, 81, of Copemish, died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at home with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 22, 1936 in Detroit, the son of Arthur and Violet (Bargert) Kaminski.

George retired from Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse where he worked as a cost analyst. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Anne moved to Thompsonville and later, Copemish, where he established himself as a well-respected tax preparer for the next 30 years. In his spare time, George served his community as a member of the Kaleva Lions Club among other activities.

George is survived by his wife, Anne McKay Kaminski; his children, George A. (Lisa) Kaminski and Katherine (Michael) Sweeney; and his grandsons, Grant Sweeney, Kyle Sweeney, and Adam Kaminski.

George was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donald Kaminski.

Cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
