Torch Lake, MI - Gerry D. Burgess, 87, Rapid City, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2025 at Autumn House in Williamsburg. Gerry was born on June 25, 1938 to the late Maitland and Doris (Armstrong) Harrison.

Gerry graduated from Michigan State University and retired as a teacher. She was a proud alumnus, jokingly saying her blood ran green. She loved watching Big 10 football and basketball games. Gerry hobbies included playing cards, participating in gambling trips on the bus with the Seniors in the area and catching white fish on the Great Lakes. Her biggest love was hearing her grandson's calling her "Gigi".

Gerry married Dennis Burgess on 10/17/1975 and he preceded her death in 2008. Also proceeding her in death is her sister, Linda (Larry) Scarlett.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Brent) Lehmkuhl of Mecosta; grandson's Joshua (Mallory) Lehmkuhl and Michael (Katie) Lehmkuhl both of Grand Rapids; great-grandson's, Wes, Drew, Luke, Alden and Jackson; siblings, David (Pat) Harrison of Alden and Bette (Pete) Eckardt of Florida.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Cemetery in Kalkaska.
