James E. Baltazar Obituary
James "Jim" Edward Baltazar, 84, of Beulah, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 with his wife by his side at Paul Oliver Long-Term Care. Jim was born on April 21, 1932 in Detroit to the late Matias and the late Adela Baltazar.
He attended Southeastern High School, Lawrence Tech and Wayne State University.
Jim's career as an industrial engineer and quality control engineer included positions at General Motors, Rockwell International and Outboard Marine Corporation. Jim retired from Outboard Marine Corporation in 1992, where he served as plant manager in Waukegan, Illinois.
Jim was a past Exalted Ruler for The Elks in Illinois.
He and his wife, Barbara Tiderington Cooper Baltazar, moved to their beloved permanent retirement home on Crystal Lake in 1992. Jim enjoyed his retirement with golf games, boating and travel to destinations from Hawaii to Alaska to Europe.
He served as president of the Village of Beulah. He was a member of Sunrise Rotary in Beulah. Jim was a founding member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Beulah.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years; his children, James (Laura) and Jeff (Tina); and granddaughter, Sasha. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Cathy, Christie, Craig and Curt. He leaves numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His brother, Rudy (Connie); and sister, Janice (Gary) Cattin, also mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jeri Cavander.
Cremation has taken place at the Benzie Area Crematory in Beulah, and no services will be held at this time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan who lovingly helped Jim and Barb through this time.
