James Duane Croff (Jim) Obituary

Traverse City, Michigan - James Duane "Jim" Croff, born May 5, 1939 in Flint MI, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. Jim grew up in Ypsilanti and spent memorable summers on his mother's family farm in Petoskey. After proudly serving in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960, primarily stationed in Germany, Jim returned to marry Rita "Rochelle" Ketchpaw in 1961. They celebrated nearly 64 years of marriage together.

Jim dedicated 30 years of his career to Munson Medical Center, where he excelled in patient care, particularly in the Cardiac Cath Lab Recovery Unit. His work ethic and passion for helping others earned him deep respect from colleagues and patients alike.

Beyond his professional life, Jim was an avid deer hunter, a passionate singer involved in local choirs and barbershop quartets, and a dedicated camper who cherished summers spent with friends at Birch Point, Gilbert Park, and Pat's Place.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Rochelle, three children—James Brien Croff, Kelleen "Kelley" Marie Tolle (Brian), and Thomas Michael Croff (Tracy)—seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be cremated, with a private scattering of ashes planned alongside his wife and beloved pets. For a full version of the obituary, visit Reynolds-Jonkhoff.com where family and friends are invited to share memories of Jim.
