Traverse City, Michigan - James Grubbs, 79, passed away on October 13, 2025.
James was born on August 9, 1946 in Mercer County, Rockford, OH to Margaret and Edwin W. Grubbs. He graduated in 1964 from Traverse City Senior High.
On April 22, 1967 he married Sandra Sue Maxson. They celebrated 58 years of marriage.
They were blessed with one son, Taylor James (Robin Britton) from Lake Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Ed, brothers Barry Kent and Gary Dean.
Jim served four years in the military service with the United States Air Force and was stationed in Topeka, Kansas.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, the Masons and a member of the American Legion.
He retired from Textron Corporation, Cone Drive Gear in Traverse City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and cooking.
Per his wishes, no service or visitation will be held. Private family graveside services will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
