On Saturday March 25, 2023, James Kenneth Tharp passed peacefully from this life. Jim was born at Boardman Valley Hospital just south of Traverse City on October 19, 1941. He died at home in his own bed just the way he wanted. Jim was a good man who worked hard and loved his family. Jim wanted no funeral or fuss and his ashes will be spread along the trail in his woods and down at the cabin where he spent deer hunting season with the guys. Jim is survived by his wife, Meri, and his Children Tamara (Art) Brzezinski, and Tony (Brenda) Tharp, his grandsons; Hunter (Krista) Tharp, Landon(Savannah) Brzezinski, Austin Tharp, Nick Brzezinski, and Cam (Kristen) Tharp, and his Great Grandchildren; Nora Brzezinski and Lincoln Tharp, his sisters Ronda (Stan) Hill and Valma (Dean) Davis as well as his Nieces Sonia and Amy, and his nephew Troy. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Virginia Tharp, his brothers Bill (Betty) Tharp, Roen Tharp and his sister Lynette. Jim lived a good life but was prepared to go at the end.
