James Everett Williams (Jim) Obituary
James "Jim" Everett Williams, 67, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, March 29, 2020.
He was a loving father to his children, Erin McKee (Spencer) and Kellie Kornmiller (Erik). He was endlessly devoted to his dear grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Natalie, Mollie, Owen and Meara, whom he loved more than can be measured. He is also survived by his father, Roy; sister, Kathy Wheeler; brother, Tom (Trisha); and former wife and dear friend, Susan Williams.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny; mother, Helen Robertson; and brother-in-law, Denny Wheeler.
Jim spent many years as a pharmacist at Munson hospital in Traverse City, where he was loved by all. His coffee runs were famous, as was his humor and kind heart. He always made sure his coworkers were listening to good music and did he ever know good music. Though he retired last year, he cherished his relationships with his former colleagues and spoke of them often.
He lived life always with a sense of adventure. He hitchhiked through Mexico, explored the Rocky Mountains, windsurfed in the Outer Banks, built his own road and mountain bikes and competed in the Iceman and Ore to Shore bicycle races. He finally swam in the Pacific Ocean last summer; he ate three ice cream cones that day.
Jim had a way about him that let you know how much he cared from the first time you met him. His smile was just the beginning of the love Jim showed to all in his life. He was a really good man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Donations may be made in Jim's honor to the Munson Medical Center's Covid-19 and Patient Needs Funds.
A memorial service will take place once gatherings are allowed.
