Jennifer E. Olsen
Jennifer Eileen Olsen, 33, passed away Dec. 8, 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jehni was born in Traverse City on May 13, 1986.
She was a graduate of Traverse City West Senior High School and the Great Lakes Culinary Institute.
Jehni had a real passion for her chosen profession and had worked for a number of years in several Traverse City restaurants. She excelled as a pastry chef and was well known for her incredible desserts. Always eager to expand her culinary talents, Jehni spent several years in Seattle, Washington, to learn different methods of cuisine. She then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to continue in that quest.
Jehni loved winter, the outdoors, camping and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her warmth, smiles, infectious laugh and easy going nature.
Jehni leaves behind her parents, Ken Olsen and Sue Olsen; a brother, Erik Olsen, all of Traverse City; and an aunt, Barbara Traver, of Baldwin, Georgia.
Jehni was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Alice Olsen, of Farmington Hills, and George and Barbara Zerbel, of Northville.
The love and joy that Jehni brought to so many will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Though I didn't know her, I wish to offer my sincere condolences. I was saddened as I read of her passing. Much too young to end her journey here on earth. Death is never easy but when one so young is taken, it seems unfair and the loss all the more painful.
I also am a TC graduate and pursued a career in the culinary arts and so I can relate to some of her experiences. And I also have lost friends taken far too young and therefore truly wish to express my empathy and sympathy.
