Maple City, Michigan - Jerome Francis Peplinski, of Maple City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 25, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Traverse City on May 12, 1953, to Francis and Anna (Winowiecki) Peplinski, he graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1971 and retired after nearly 30 years as a mechanic with the Leelanau County Road Commission.
Jerome married Pamela Meteer on July 3, 1976. He enjoyed restoring vehicles, tractors, and other machinery, and was known for his strong work ethic and ability to repair almost anything.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela; son Andrew (Corine) Peplinski; grandson Oliver; sister Janice Bloom; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cynthia Draper.
Visitation will be held August 22, 2026, at 2 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 pm at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com
