Joan Steinka, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born to the late, John and Agnes (McPhee) Huffman, in Traverse City, Michigan on July 7, 1947.

Joan married Arthur Wiiliam Steinka, Jr., on June 30, 1979, in Central Lake, Michigan they have been married for 45 years.

She lived life as she wanted to and was happy at her home in Rapid City. Joan enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and watching the sunsets. She had a huge heart and cared deeply for her family.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Arthur W. Steinka; three sons, Wayne (Jennifer) Moffit, Dennis Moffit, and JD (Andrea) Moffit; five grandchildren, Tori, Kyra, Tyler, Teagin, Nolan; a sister, Jean (Richard) McKinnon.

She was preceded in passing by a sister, Beatrice Huffman.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, at 12 pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, beginning at 11 am until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Joan's name.
