Jon J. Dunaske Obituary

Traverse City, Michigan - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jon J. Dunaske, age 64, loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Jon went home to our Heavenly Father on June 14, 2026. Waiting for him with open arms were his father (Jack), mother (Angela), brother (William) and sister (Dorothy-Ann).

Jon grew up and was well known in Traverse City, he attended St. Francis High School and became a masterful fisherman of the boardman river at a young age. In his youth he worked at various stores in downtown traverse city before eventually following in his father's footsteps, where he worked in the oil and gas industry as a landman and seismic agent.

Jon was proud of his work in the oil and gas industry, where he once served as president of the Michigan Association of Professional Landmen, and he gave back to his community through Elks Lodge No. 323, serving as both trustee and chaplain

In his spare time he enjoyed grilling, fishing, golfing, playing cards and making his family laugh with his sense of humor and quick wit.

Jon is survived by his loving wife Julie Dunaske (Allen); sons Daniel Dunaske and Joseph Dunaske (Kaelyn Hughes); brother Anthony Dunaske (Cynthia) and sister Alicia Dunaske; sister in-law Linda Smith (Denis Baker) and brother in laws Eric Allen (Simply), Jim Allen, and Jeff Allen (Nancy); as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will take place at a later date.
