Keith Kramer Obituary

Traverse City, Michigan - Keith Kramer, age 75, of Traverse City was called home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Born on August 9, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, Keith was the second eldest child of Ted and Virginia Kramer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and longtime member of the Traverse City community. A graduate of St. Francis High School, Western Michigan University, and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, he enjoyed a long dental career serving Traverse City, Glen Arbor, and Empire.

Keith was active in many organizations and causes. First being his faith where he served as an usher at Immaculate Conception Church. He was also active in the Boy Scouts, an extension of his love of the outdoors, including camping, fishing, and hunting. Golf was a lifelong passion, highlighted by making a hole-in-one in college, serving as president of the Traverse City Country Club, and later working at Mistwood Golf Course following retirement. A dedicated University of Michigan football fan and longtime season-ticket holder, he treasured decades of memorable moments. He also supported the GTACS system as a ski coach and volunteer at football and volleyball concessions.

Most of all, Keith valued time with family and friends. Whether "working" (napping) by the pool with an audiobook and Diet Coke, attending local sporting events, visiting at the gym, or gathering with neighbors and longtime friends at "The Bump," he brought warmth, laughter, and friendship to those around him.

Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen Kramer; children, Kristin (Mark) Regal, Matthew (Trista Chen) Kramer, Khalid Chriba (Liz Vernam); grandchildren, Sophya and Max Chriba; siblings; Gary (Kathleen) Kramer, Kitty Keller, Pat Kramer, Michael Kramer, Ted (Kathy) Kramer, Judy (Geoff) Gailey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore "Ted" & Virginia (Couture) Kramer; infant granddaughter, Charlotte Josephine Regal; and brother-in-law, Jim Keller.
