Larmie Hamilton, 78, of Bear Lake, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at his home. He was born Dec. 21, 1937, in Springdale Township, the son of Harry and Violet (Jones) Hamilton.

Larmie was a veteran of the United States Army.

Following his time in the service he went on to become a mechanic.

In his spare time Larmie loved to hunt and fish. He could often be found tinkering on cars and was known to offer mechanical work free of charge to his family and friends.

Most of all, Larmie loved to spend time with his family, and he will be remembered as a great man with a loving heart.

Larmie is survived by his children, Steven Hamilton, of Bear Lake, Larmie (Elke) Hamilton, of Oklahoma, Letha (Rick) Hamilton, of Georgia, and Mike (Sarah) Hamilton, of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Rachelle (Brianna) Hamilton, Ariana (Brent) Spafford, David Dankowski, Samantha Hamilton, Danae Hamilton, Michael Hamilton and Jacob Hamilton; his great-granddaughter, Aaralyn, and one great-grandchild on the way; his siblings, Marjorie Hamilton, Louis (Marion) Hamilton, Caroline (Duane) Adams, Larry Hamilton, Rose Cain, Lloyd (Roberta) Hamilton, Bert Hamilton, David (Patricia) Hamilton and Terry Hamilton; his siblngs-in-law, Evelyn (Harley) Thies, Charles (Rose) Burns and Bill Burns; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Larmie was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Harry Hamilton, Lorraine Knudson and Lee Dawn Hamilton; his friends and ex-wife, Betty Hamilton; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Gutowski, Jerry Burns and Jim Burns.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
