Lenda Lou McQueer Obituary

Traverse City, Michigan - Lenda Lou McQueer, 79, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025. Born on May 27, 1945, in Traverse City, Michigan to Leonard and Helen Burr. Lenda lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family and faith.

A bright and compassionate soul, Lenda had a special way of caring for others, always ensuring that those around her felt loved, supported, and uplifted. She was a beacon of positivity and joy, sharing her warmth with everyone she met.

Lenda married her high school sweetheart David, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were blessed with four wonderful daughters—Pam, Dawn, Sheri, and Wendy—whom Lenda adored. She took great pride in her family, treasuring every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was supporting them in their endeavors, planning outings, or simply spending time together, family was at the heart of everything she did.

Lenda dedicated much of her time serving as an administrator in the front office of her church, where she welcomed families with a warm smile and a kind heart. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found great joy in being the pianist for Sunday services for over 50 years.

Beyond her work and family, Lenda had a passion for adventure and discovery. She loved to travel with family and friends and enjoyed many trips exploring with her sisters. One of her most beloved traditions was an annual Christmas weekend with her daughters. Where they would tour historical homes and visit craft shows—a tradition she lovingly upheld for 29 years.

Lenda was a friend to many, always bringing laughter and joy into the lives of those around her. She was a proud member of "The Dynamic Trio," a close-knit group of friends who shared laughter and memories every Friday night.

She had a few simple joys in life—playing the piano, knitting, camping, attending to her fairy garden and spending time with loved ones.

Lenda was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Helen Burr and husband David L. McQueer.

She is survived by her loving daughters; Pam (Glenn) Chikas, Dawn McQueer, Sheri (Wes) Cornwell and Wendy Barron; her grandchildren, Brandi (Jack) Morgan, Nathan Lee, Blake (Megan) Rumbach, Andrew Cornwell, Luke (Lillian) Chikas, Angel (Derek) Lederer, Kaelyn Barron, Brendan Barron, Tyler Cornwell, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, along with many bonus grandchildren, Antonio Aleman and Sam (Zak) Denny. Sisters, Patrica Burr, Dianne Burr (Dennis Fleischman) and Nancy (John) Brandford and many nieces and nephews. Many dear friends including special friends Caroline Bagley and Pat Clingan (The dynamic trio)
