Lujay John Pelky
March 23, 1962 - August 27, 2025
Lujay John Pelky, 63, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Grand Rapids. He was born March 23, 1962, son of Raymond and Lottie Pelky.
Lujay was a hard-working, big rig truck driving man. He was self-driven and independent. He was that guy that actually did what others dream and talk about doing: Travel the USA, build houses, work on the railroad, mining gold in Arizona and riding Harley's that he built his way. He bought and operated his first semi at 23. One time, he broke down in Alabama and hitch hiked 50 miles with a turbo to get it repaired. He never gave up on getting anything done that he sat out to do. Most recently finishing his career delivering pipeline pipe to Montana and the Dakotas. Marlboro's stock must have risen on his purchases alone!
He loved to give the girls a whirl--always a girlfriend, but the wife and kids gig was not in the program. He loved his family, all his nieces and nephews and was generous with them. He was everyone's favorite brother or uncle.
He is survived by: his favorite sister, Evelyn; brothers, Frank, Jess, Joe, and Mike Kielbas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends coast-to-coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lottie Pelky; and his brothers, Matthew and Dan.
Funeral services will take place at 2 pm on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah. Visitation will take place from 1 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Champion Hill Cemetery, in Honor.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
