Mark T. Sicinski Obituary

Traverse City, Michigan - Mark Sicinski, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the age of 62.

Mark was born on December 2, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas and Patricia Sicinski. He graduated from Riverside High School, Dearborn Heights in 1981 and Western Michigan University in 1986. Mark had a career in building trades his entire life, working for Burdco Group, Sevens Paint & Wallpaper, Owner of Pro-Tips Painting, and Preston Feather Building Centers where he worked for 21 years as a windows and doors specialist. His dedication to his work was reflective of the family spirit and loving friendships that he enjoyed there.

Mark had a beautiful, deep, soothing voice and a calm demeanor. He was earnest, charismatic, and gentle - a kind soul. Upon Mark's passing, a longtime friend reflected, "he was the salt of the earth."

As an outdoorsman, he grew up hunting and fishing with his Uncle Bill Kaczur, continuing throughout his life with friends and his sons. He especially cherished his time at hunting camp on Neebish Island with his second "dad", Jack Truckey. Mark was a sports guy and a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and U of M football. He was an avid reader, with a particular interest in war stories and history. He cherished time spent with his children while coaching them as youth and proudly supported and cheered them on in their baseball, hockey, basketball, dance and scouting endeavors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Samuel Sicinski (Mark was 7 years old when his father tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident); grandparents: Joseph Buziak, Stella Buziak, Adam Sicinski, Gladys Sicinski, aunts and uncles.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Madeline Sicinski, Nicholas Sicinski, Samuel Sicinski; sister, Kimberly (Harry) Kuk-Westland; niece, Jesica; nephews, Tom, Jason, Adam; mother of his children, Jodine Sicinski; and many good friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St. Traverse City. Family will welcome visitors an hour prior to the service starting at 2 pm. To leave a message for the family, please visit www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com.
