Ms. Mary Ann Aldridge Obituary
Grosse Ile, MI - Mary Ann Aldridge, 75, was born on September 8, 1950, in Detroit to Keith and Mary Lou Aldridge, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mary Ann dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, serving at Borgess Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and other healthcare facilities. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Northwestern Michigan College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Michigan University.
She is survived by her sons, Patrick Prebo (Dani) and Brendan Prebo (Amy); her grandchildren, Nina Lewellen, Alex Andersen, Anthony "TJ" Inscore, Alexandria Inscore, and Kaitlyn Inscore; and her brothers, Guy Aldridge (Joann) and Charlie Aldridge (Alice).
Mary Ann was a lifelong learner whose curiosity and passion for knowledge shaped her life. In recent years, she developed a deep appreciation for classical music and Shakespeare and devoted herself to researching the life of her distant relative, Elizabeth "Betsy" Seaman, one of the first white settlers of Drummond Island, about whom she was writing a book. She was active in the Fife Lake Area Genealogy Society and the Fife Lake Historical Society. A devoted Jehovah's Witness, she was a member of the Traverse City Congregation.
She will be remembered for her humor, vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought to others.
A private burial will take place at Clark Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.
