Kalkaska, Michigan - Michael Dennis "Mike" Neubecker, 73 of Kalkaska, passed away at his home on July 24, 2026.

Mike was born on October 15, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Ernest J. and Hazel Daisy (Burch) Neubecker. After growing up in Detroit, he later continued his education at City University in Seattle, Washington.

On February 5, 1972, Mike married Cecelia Verreau. Together, they shared more than 52 years of marriage and built a life centered around their family, love, and many treasured memories.

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1993. He loved the Navy and remained deeply interested in boats, ships, and life on the water throughout his life. Whether swimming, boating, or simply spending time near the water, Mike felt at home there.

Known for his big heart, Mike was always willing to help others. He was a true jack of all trades who could fix, build, or figure out nearly anything. His generosity, resourcefulness, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Mike loved his family deeply and treasured the time they spent together. Some of his happiest memories came from the family's annual camping trips throughout the State of Michigan. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and gathering with those he loved most.

A longtime automobile enthusiast, Mike served as president of the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club International. He greatly valued the friendships, experiences, and shared appreciation for classic automobiles that came through his involvement with the club.

Mike was also an animal lover. He especially cherished his pets, Buddy and Rex, along with the many other animals that were part of his family through the years.

Mike is survived by his loving wife; Cecelia Neubecker; his sons; Richard Neubecker and Douglas Neubecker; his grandchildren; Joslynn Neubecker, Ellie Neubecker, Jason Neuecker, Abby Neubecker, and Charley Neubecker; his brother, Ernest J. Neubecker Jr.; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Jack Sabin, Shirley Sabin, Alton Sabin, and Gerald Sabin.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska on Wednesday, July 30 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am.

Burial will take place at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Cemetery with military honors and a graveside committal service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home.
