Nancy A. Hermann Obituary
Traverse City, Michigan - Nancy A. Hermann passed away just days after her beloved husband of 63 years, Bill, a symbol of their extraordinary love story. Surrounded by her four devoted children Bill Jr., Lisa, Deanna, and Damian, she left this world much as she lived in it: embraced by her devoted family. For Nancy and Bill, "till death do us part", did not apply. They died as they lived: together. Born on April 27, 1943, Nancy was the youngest of three daughters. She grew into a woman defined by her commitment to her family, her loyalty to friends, and her pursuit of life's passions, particularly golf. Nancy dedicated herself to raising her children, tirelessly championing their interests and endeavors. Behind the wheel of her 1971 hunter-green Corvette, she logged countless miles to basketball games, theater performances, track meets, and golf tournaments, always her children's loudest and most loyal cheerleader. She adored her grandchildren Ella, Lettie, Jordan, Melissa, Zack, Thea, Joe, and Madeleine, and was overjoyed to welcome her great-granddaughter, little Lola, into the family. Nothing gave her greater joy or pride than sharing stories and pictures of her children and grandchildren. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Nancy cheered passionately for the Detroit Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings, though her greatest love was NCAA basketball. She was also an accomplished golfer, capturing numerous club championships and tournaments. A highlight of her golfing life was a treasured 2001 trip to Ireland. Her friends held a special place in her heart, and she cherished her loving time spent with them, the laughter they shared, and especially beating them on the golf course:) Nancy will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a loyal friend with a sharp wit, and a fierce competitor. Her golfing partners will miss the unmistakable "ping" of her classic putter, just as all who knew her will miss her warmth, quick wit, and steadfastness. Intellectually sharp and empathetic, Nancy was an outspoken advocate for women's rights and justice, never afraid to engage in thoughtful dialogue to both inform and be informed. Her love of family and friends never wavered. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. In lieu of cards or donations, the family invites you to honor Bill and Nancy by sharing a special memory or story of your time with them in the comments below. A funeral service for both Nancy and her husband Bill will be held at 3 pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 2 pm.
