Patricia "Pat" A. Bauman, age 85, of Traverse City, formerly of Manistee, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Traverse City.

Pat was born on Nov. 27, 1935 in Parkdale to the late Harold and Elizabeth Bauman. She graduated from Manistee St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1954.

She enjoyed country western and polka music and Tiger baseball. Pat was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Traverse City. Most of all, she was a treasured sister, sister-in-law, and aunt to many generations of the Bauman family.

She retired in 1990 after being employed for 36 years at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, first in Manistee and then in Traverse City. She enjoyed the people she worked with throughout the years. When she started working, she "rang numbers" for people; at the time all calls had to go through a telephone operator as there was no direct dialing. She marveled at the technology of today's smart phones.

Pat is survived by one sister, Marge Paschka, of Manistee; one brother, Jack Bauman, of Newago; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bauman, of Manistee, and Marilee Johnson, of Bear Lake and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, James, Albert, who passed during World War II, Harold and Ronald; infant twin sisters, Arlene and Carlene; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Stanley) Olson and Virginia (Leonard) Ball; and sisters-in-law, Clara (James) Bauman, and Connie (Jack) Bauman.

Pat was grateful for the care that she received at Munson Medical Center and Munson Hospice House in Traverse City during the final weeks of her life.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish in Manistee with Reverend Basil Lek celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Divine Mercy Parish in Manistee or St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Traverse City. Envelopes will be available at the church on Wednesday morning.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
