Peter 'Pete' Goodnough Mallory, 84, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2023, at his home in Beulah, Michigan, with his wife, Sandy and their son, Jeff; grandson-in-law, Michael and "Max" at his side. Pete married Sandra "Sandy" Fox June 13, 1959, in Owego, New York, and were re-married in 2002. They shared 40 years together.
Born in Endicott, New York, he was the son of Harold Truman Mallory and Ethel "Tillie" Lillian (Toole) Mallory. Pete graduated from Owego Free Academy, Class of 1957 (Owego, NY) where he participated in football, baseball, track, and basketball and served as Senior Class president.
He was employed at Agway Farm Supply in Caledonia, NY and Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. In the 1980's he started his own concrete construction business in Florida. He continued concrete work upon moving to Michigan.
Pete was a member of the Empire United Methodist Church where he prepared Saturday morning breakfasts once a month and served as a trustee and head usher. He was an avid deer hunter and fished many of the rivers and lakes in the area. He will be remembered for his easy-going character and "one of a kind" personality.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; and son, Jeffrey (Diane) Mallory; grandchildren, Cody James (Jamie) Mallory, Morgan Marie (Michael) Davis, and Brooke Ann Mallory; great-grandchildren, Samuel Austin Mallory, Sawyer James Mallory, Hadley Grace Mallory, and Rowan Mae Davis; brother, Jon Harry Mallory; brother-in-law, Royden L. (Judy) Fox; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ethel "Tillie" Mallory; sister, Patricia Rose (Mallory) Lull; brothers-in-law, George Lull, David Fox, Gary Fox, and Gene Fox; and sisters-in-law, Carol (Jon) Mallory and Carol (Gene) Fox.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Empire United Methodist Church at 11 aa.m. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. A luncheon will follow in Fellowship Hall.
