Richard Lincoln Schwab, 78, of Kaleva, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022. Richard was born March 1, 1944, in Highland Park, the son of William Schwab and Marietta (Whitman) Glomb. He grew up in Redford Township, and had lived in Manchester, MI, Leesburg, FL, and Kaleva, MI. He worked in the grocery industry for 48 years. Richard married Jane Heaney on Nov. 9, 1968.
Richard enjoyed working in his garden, canning all the vegetables he grew, and loved watching his favorite television programs with his wife. Richard loved to sit out on the new deck and enjoy the beautiful Northern Michigan weather.
Surviving are: his beloved wife of 54 years, Jane; sons, Eric Schwab, Richard (Melissa) Schwab, and James (Karen) Schwab; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Kalvin, Bradley, and Spencer Schwab.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Marietta Glomb; stepfather, Edward Glomb; and in-laws, William and Edith Heaney.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospice for the devoted care of Richard.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.
The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
