Robert John Haugh (Bob) Obituary
New Port Richey, FL - Robert (Bob) John Haugh, 90, of New Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully in his home on July 6, 2026.
Bob was born in Bay City, MI on April 19, 1936. In early childhood his family moved to Detroit, Michigan then Birmingham, MI when he was 12 where he graduated from Birmingham High School in 1954. Bob graduated from Hillsdale College in 1959 with a BBA, lots of ambition and integrity. With an affable personality, Bob seemed a natural to follow his father's footsteps in car sales but soon found stability working for Standard Oil Co. and eventually his passion as a Business Management Consultant as part owner of E.K Williams of Warren, MI. Bob married the love of his life, Kathy in 1974 and together they moved to Traverse City in 1975 with their family to start his own business, eventually known as Robert Haugh and Associates. It was there they settled into a marvelous life of raising children, building a successful business, hosting family and friends and travelling to many destinations and adventures.
Bob was an avid reader, mostly enjoying westerns, involved in Boy Scouts, loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and special times every summer at the family cottage on Sugar Island, MI. Although he enjoyed going hunting, he always said it was for the time outdoors, reading and being the "camp cook". He never shot a deer but he will always be known as "the one who bagged a deer before arriving at camp". The car was repairable, the deer was not. At the age of 79, Bob grudgingly decided it was time to retire due to lifelong eye problems that eventually led to blindness. Despite the adversity of blindness and aging, he and Kathy retired to New Port Richey, FL in 2018 for a new adventure and the last leg of his journey. He will always be remembered for his jovial laughter, hospitality, wisdom and ability to handle any situation set before him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Elizabeth Haugh, Daughter Leslie Lynn Haugh Guay, brother Donald Haugh and his best friend Warren Leman. Bob is survived and forever remembered by his loving wife of 52 years Kathy; his children Robert M. (Beverly), Kevin and Amy Walker (Matt); his 10 grandchildren, Nathan Haugh, Brookes Guay, Aaron Guay (Shelli), Brett Guay, Justin Haugh, Amber Guay, Joseph Haugh, Jeannette Cates (Greg), Emmie Haugh and Madison Walker. In addition, 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; his siblings Rich, Jim and Betty Crowder (John): numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and he was much loved by Cooper, the family dog.
Bob's wishes were to not have a funeral service and to have his ashes laid to rest in Traverse City with the love of his life, Kathy. Donations can be made in memorium to: Gulfside Hospice, www.Gulfside.org, 6117 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34653 (800)561-4883
