Rosalyn J. Carter

Events

Traverse City resident, Rosalyn J. Carter, passed away at her home on May 31, at the age of 90. Rosalyn was born to Mae Clara and Wesley Cox in S. Rockwood in 1928.
She graduated from Belleville High School in 1946.
Rosalyn married Warren Carter and shared 69 years with him prior to his passing in 2016. Together they raised six children while residing in Belleville and later in Ypsilanti.
Rosalyn worked at the Rawsonville Ford plant.
She and Warren spent their early retirement years in their home on Lake Missaukee in Lake City. In the mid 1980s they permanently retired to Traverse City for the remainder of their golden years. Rosalyn always said how fortunate she was to have been able to fully enjoy retirement, which included traveling to Alaska, Hawaii and many other states. She especially loved the road trips they took on the Alaska Highway to visit their children.
Anyone who knew and loved her would understand her appreciation for crossword puzzles, reading, listening to music and working in her yard. Rosalyn will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her appreciation for the simple things in life. She often spoke about what a wonderful life she and Warren had together. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Rosalyn was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Carter; daughter, Lauri Carter; and brothers, Harold Cox and Warren Cox.
She leaves her sons, David (Becky) Carter and Robert (Renee) Carter; and daughters, Diane (Ron) Stachnik, Karen Carter and Susan (Darrell) Taylor. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; as well as her close friends and neighbors, Vic and Donna Trierweiler.
Rosalyn will be interred with her husband, Warren, at Tyler Road Cemetery in Belleville at a later date.
