Kalkaska, Michigan - Russell Stanley Bell, age 82 of Kalkaska, passed away Thursday July 2, 2026 at his home with family. He was born July 1, 1944 in Evart Michigan and was one of eleven children. Russ graduated from Evart High School, then attended college at Central Michigan University. Russ then went to work at General Motors, being in supervision for over 20 years before relocating to Kalkaska, where he became owner of Krouse Tire and the Radio Shack store in Kalkaska before retiring in 2012. Russ was also a valued member of the Kiwanis Organization, and a Kalkaska County commissioner for seven years. Russ was very instrumental in the development of the Kalkaska Kaliseum Center which he was very proud of. Russ loved his family and especially spending time at the family deer camp with his brothers, sons, grandson, nephews and niece. Russ was an avid golfer which was his second passion in life, with his family being his first. Russell is survived by his wife Rosemarie Franco Bell, his brother Robert (Sherry) Bell, Sister Christie (Don) Dunlop. Sons Robert (Michele)Bell, David (Sheri)Bell, Charles Bell, Frank Franco and daughter Victoria (Chuck) Franco. Grandchildren, Brandon (Rebecca) Bell, Brittany Bell, Stephanie Bell, Destinee Bell and Russell Bell. Plus, many more nephews and nieces. Russ was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Grace (Lincoln) Kinney, Iris (Dave) Jenson, Hazel (William) Spence, Charlie (Joan) Bell, Don Bell, Carl Bell, Clare (Betty) Bell, and Herb (Edna) Bell. There will be no funeral services per Russell's request. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 9, at Kalkaska Moose Lodge, beginning at Noon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home.
