Sharon Lee Antoine, 73, of Grawn, Michigan, began her journey back to her ancestors on November 01, 2024.

She was a K'chi Wiikweedong Anishinaabe elder of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

Sharon was born on July 03, 1951, in Manistee, MI, the fourth child of Helena Jeanette Antoine (Smith).

Sharon grew up in Onekama and later moved to Manistee before settling in the Grand Traverse region. She worked for GTB for over twenty years and retired as the elder's coordinator in 2023.

Sharon's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether during her travels to Florida, Texas, and Tennessee or on fall color rides she enjoyed. Her love for her family was unwavering and brought joy to all who knew her.

Her three children survive Sharon: Renee Wilson of Grawn, MI, Denise Edgington of Cadillac, MI, and Ronald and Christi Edgington of Interlochen, MI. Her brothers are Thomas Antoine of Peshawbestown, MI, and Larry Antoine of Marshall, MI. She has nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helena, sisters Shirley Marie Antoine and Lorraine Livingston, and brother Cletus Antoine Jr.

A celebration of life gathering will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, Michigan, as we come together to honor and remember her.
