Heber City, UT - Stephanie "Stevie" Post passed peacefully on August 31, 2025 with both her daughters present for her transition. Stephanie Goodes was born on September 1, 1942. She was born in Holland Michigan to Pearl Lotus Telegonhof and Herbert L. Goodes. She was an only child and spent most of her time with her parents, her grandma Cecil and grandpa Ted as well as with her Aunt Beatrice Telegonhof and her two daughters, cousins Sandy and Candy.

Stevie, as she was fondly called by family and friends, grew up in Holland, MI and eventually graduated from Hope college. Soon thereafter she became a secretary for Herman Miller furniture. Her daughters still have a magnificent collection of her Herman Miller lamps, wallhangings, and other beautiful pieces of furniture, as well as a set of coveted Eames chairs. In her younger years Stevie was a national hopscotch champion! She was very involved with Dutch dancing in elementary, junior high, high school and even college. She spent countless hours clogging on the streets of Holland Michigan for the tulip festivals and had many appearances in the local newspaper for Dutch dancing on Windmill Island.

Stevie married her high school sweetheart, Jarvis Post of Grand Haven. Together they spent many days on the beach of Lake Michigan where Jarvis was a lifeguard where they made many fond memories in front of Big Red, the Harbor Light of Holland. Stevie and Jarvis moved to Traverse City, Michigan in 1968 with their first child Susie Jo Post. In that same year, they had their second child, Jenny Lee. The family lived for many years in Traverse City and spent many years sailing on the Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Michigan, and Lake Superior. Stevie was always prepared with a picnic and all the supplies they would need for their sailing journeys.

Stevie moved to Palmetto, Florida in 2009 after retiring from the United States Coast Guard as a bookkeeper and manager. She thrived at her job and was loved by all her workmates. She was very loved at the USCG and was proud of the work she did there. That being said, she loved retirement and absolutely loved her new home in Florida. Stevie moved to Palmetto with her long time friend and companion, Dr. Larry Thompson. She and Larry shared a very, very long friendship that dated back to Traverse City. They were companions for 20+ years before Larry passed away in 2021.

Stevie spent the last few years of her life between her home in Florida and Utah where both of her daughters reside. Stevie passed peacefully with both her daughters by her side on August 31, 2025, a day before her 83rd birthday. Stevie was a proud mom and is greatly missed by her two daughters, their partners and her two grand daughters.
