Traverse City, Michigan - Stewart H. Nunneley "Bing", 88, of Traverse City passed away April 30, 2025 with his loving wife at his side. Born on March 31, 1937, in Highland Park, Michigan, Stewart was the son of late Stewart and Muriel (Hamilton) Nunneley. On September 8, 1962, he married the love of his life, Peggy Johnson. Their union was one of deep devotion and partnership that spanned more than six decades. Bing proudly served his country in the United States Army. Though he was never called to war, his patriotism and love for America were unwavering. A dedicated and talented engineer, Bing worked for Ford Motor Company in Birmingham, Michigan, where he spent over 27 years contributing to the automotive industry with pride and precision. Outside of work, Bing lived life to the fullest. He was a longtime member of the Traverse City Elks Club and the Grand Traverse Kennel Club, where he channeled his passion for dogs—especially golden retrievers—into obedience and field training. Bing had a deep love for all things fast, whether it was racing cars and boats, snowmobiling, or tinkering with engines. He was also a skilled builder of model planes and boats, and a talented wildlife photographer. Bing is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; his sister, Barbara; and many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him for his warmth, humor, and zest for life. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with a visitation starting at 3 pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
