Tammy S. Hubschneider

Tammy Sue (Stahl) Hubschneider passed away peacefully July 7, 2019 at home while surrounded by her three sons, husband, close family friend and her beloved puppies. Tammy was born July 2, 1961 in Mt. Clemens to parents, Robert (Bob) Stahl and Alice Stahl (Bryson).
Tammy grew up on Lake Leelanau just outside Cedar, a place she loved with people she cherished. Fortunately for Kurt, Tammy moved to Traverse City in 1977, her junior year of high school. She started attending Central High School, where Tammy and Kurt were reunited after a brief meeting a few months previously. They fell madly in love and were destined to be together. Kurt has recounted many times after their first date, he went home and proclaimed, at 17, he had met the girl he was going to marry.
Tammy grew into a marvelous woman. Everyone who knew Tammy saw her as one of the kindest people they had ever met. Tammy was also very driven and incredibly intelligent. She took it upon herself to spend countless hours learning to program software and build websites for the family business. She would stay on a task for days, even weeks, until it was done and done right.
Tammy was such a special soul. So kind, yet tough. She would bend but rarely break. She was always up to date on news and current events. Her husband says he would watch for news updates just to see if he could report something to her she didn't already know. Time and time again he heard, "I saw that."
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Alice; her father, Robert; sister, Lynn (Stahl) Salinski; and mother-in-law, Geraldine (Jerry) Hubschneider.
Tammy is survived by her son, Justin, of Traverse City; son, Christopher, of Applegate, Oregon; son, Kyle, of East Lansing; husband, Kurt, of Traverse City; brother, Bobby Stahl; sister, Debbie Hahnenberg (Stahl); sister-in-law and husband, Lauren Oien (Hubschneider) and Chris Oien; brother-in-law, Neale Hubschneider; brother-in-law, Alan Hubschneider; sister-in-law and husband, Dianna Lynn Gaddey and Roy Gaddey; and beloved dogs, Hershey, Bryson and Adora.
Her families' hearts will be broken forever from the loss of such an extraordinary and irreplaceable woman. Her husband and sons will never feel the unconditional love that emanated from the deepest depths of her being again. She truly was an incredible mom and wife. Her joy, quick wit, optimism, bubbliness, intelligence, determination, loyalty and predominant endearment will be missed incessantly. You will always be loved and missed, Tammy Sue (Stahl) Hubschneider.
A celebration of Tammy's life will be held on Sunday, July 14, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m., with Father Ciprian Streza officiating.

Kurt, we were shocked to learn of Tammy's illness and are saddened by her passing. Throughout the more than ten years we've been annually enjoying a week at the Hideaway it was always a pleasure to deal with Tammy. She was invariably cheerful and immediately responsive to our calls. We've viewed both of you as friends, We will miss her. We are so sorry for her loss and will hold you and your family in our prayers. Dick, Phyllis and the Rabbideau family.

It was always a highlight of our summer season to begin and end it with Tammy. She was such great company with her winning personality and wonderful style. She will be missed by all who knew her. The spirit of the faithful departed shines infinitely brighter than while in this mortal setting.

My heart is heavy with the sad news of Tammy's passing. I've known Tammy since grade school. I remember fondly spending many nights at her house on Lake Leelanau but being devastated when she moved to Traverse City. It might not seem that far but in '77 it seemed on the other side of the world - and we lost touch. But many years later, as I was shopping in Tom's on Munson Ave, around the corner came Tammy with a cart and 3 little boys. I was over joyed to see her. Plus she looked the same, how was that even possible? We stayed in touch for awhile and then I started moving around; Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta. Then came Facebook and she found me again and it was like were we right bac...k to school girls again. I'm going to miss her charm, humor and that laugh. She was a true beauty inside and out. So Tammy put on your wings and fly. Until we meet again.....Read more

Prayers to you Kurt and the boys. Tammy was truly a beautiful soul. Her absence leaves a huge hole. My dad loved working with Tammy and the rest of CB Schmidt backroom gang. May God's arms hold you all through this time.

So loved, so missed! She was such a beautiful sole both inside and out. Tammy had a great sense of humor and very strong beliefs. To know her, was to love her! Rest in peace sweet sister from another mother!
