Traverse City, Michigan - Dolores McKay, 98, of Traverse City passed away peacefully at her home on May 12, 2026.

Dolores was born on January 28, 1928 in Detroit to the late Wilbur Lot and Margaret Jane (White) Davidson.

On May 19, 1946 she married William "Bill" McKay in Fort Wayne, IN.

Dolores worked for Macomb Community College in Student Administration for many years. She was a member of Bay View Wesleyan Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and loved to do crafts. She was a proud member of the Red Hat ladies group and dedicated volunteer at the Dennos Museum. She also loved to play cards.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Bill; siblings Frederick "Teddy" Davidson, Junior Davidson, Gordon Davidson, Margaret Joan Hoffman, Thomas Davidson and William Davidson.

Dolores will be remembered with love by her children Carol Lynn McKay, Pamela (Kenneth Lingo) Krull McKay, Steven (Carol) McKay; grandchildren Shane (Karla) Ruppert, Laura Ruppert, Mark (Leslie) Krull, Heather (Derek) Smith, David (Rose) McKay, Matthew (Michelle), Anna (Benjamin) Barrett, and Joshua (Jesse) McKay; great grandchildren Laurel Barrett, Clara Barrett, Savannah Ruppert, Hudson Ruppert, Mia Ruppert, Logan Ruppert, Brendan (Megan)Hennard, Kaila Hennard, Kullin Hennard, Olivia Krull, Alaina Krull, Caleb (Olivia) Smith, Brooke Smith, and Hunter Smith; great great grandchildren Arrabella Niswanger, Grayson Hennard, Issabella Hennard and Guinevere Hennard.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11 am, with visitation beginning at 10 am at Bayview Wesleyan Church. A dessert reception will follow.

She will be laid to rest in Berkley, Michigan at a later date.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to Bayview Wesleyan Church or to the Michal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.
